Adam Skonieczki has been named the National Co-Coach of the Year as announced by Perfect Game. He was jointly named Coach of the Year with Florida Southern's Rick O'Dette.
Coach Sko, who took over the head job this year after former coach Chris Ramirez left to become the head coach at DI Southern Indiana, has led the Bears to one of the best offensive season's in DII history. They just set the DII home run record and rank in the top-ten nationally for nine different categories. This team ranks first in school history in 15 categories and top five all-time in 22. Sal Carricato, and
Cole Stanford, the Bears currently sport a record of 49-13 and advanced to the winner's bracket in the DII Championship series with a 15-11 win over East Stroudsburg yesterday.
Skonieczki becomes the first baseball coach in recorded Lenoir-Rhyne history to win a National Coach of the Year Award.
