Men's Lacrosse earns No. 6 seed in NCAA Tournament

HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne men's lacrosse team earned the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Division II men's lacrosse tournament and will face off against No. 3 seeded Florida Tech in Melbourne, Florida, at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Lenoir-Rhyne is one of four South Atlantic Conference teams (Wingate, Newberry, Anderson) to earn a spot in this year's NCAA field.

The Bears are making their sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and eighth overall. Head coach Greg Paradine and his squad have a record of 11-4 (7-2 SAC) and have won nine of their last 10 games, only falling in the SAC semi-finals to eventual champion Newberry by one on Wednesday evening.

Florida Tech is making their first ever NCAA appearance after finishing the regular season with a 12-4 (6-1 SSC) record. The Panthers advanced to the Sunshine State Conference Championship game, falling 17-8 to top seeded Tampa.

The Bears and Panthers have faced off eight times, with Lenoir-Rhyne holding a 6-2 advantage in the series. These teams last met during Lenoir-Rhyne's 2023 national championship season, a game which ended in a 20-11 Bear victory.

More information about Sunday's matchup will be released later this week.
