Top-Ranked Limestone Handles Lenoir-Rhyne, 17-2, In Men's Lacrosse

Gaffney, S.C. - Limestone College, the top-ranked team in NCAA Division II, defeated Lenoir-Rhyne University by a 17-2 score Tuesday afternoon in a men's lacrosse match.? The Saints remained undefeated on the year at 11-0 while the Bears fell to 4-9.

Eleven different players scored for?the Saints including a game-high three goals from Randy Waugh (Severna Park, Md.) while Tor Reinholdt (Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA) added two goals for Limestone in the win.

The Saints, who held a 37-11 advantage in shots taken, were also aided by three own goals.

Freshmen Anthony Mangili (Durham, N.C.) and Tyler Kotch (Butler, Pa.) registered goals for Lenoir-Rhyne in the second and fourth periods, respectively.

In goal, Limestone's Steve Gartelman (Seaford, N.Y.) picked up the win while L-R junior Patrick Stasio (Williamsville, N.Y.) suffered the loss despite making four saves.?

Freshman Gus Brighton (Chapel Hill, N.C.) added nine saves in goal as well for the Bears.

Lenoir-Rhyne next competes in the Deep South Conference Tournament beginning?on Tuesday, April 12.? Limestone travels to Misenheimer, N.C., to face Pfeiffer on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
