HICKORY, NC - Lenoir-Rhyne Softball opens their 2025 season this weekend in Gulf Shores, Alabama, before christening the newly completed McCrorie Family Stadium on Saturday, February 8
th. The Bears look to continue the momentum from last year's Division II World Series run as they begin the 2025 season. Keep reading below to learn what's new for softball gamedays this season and details about the McCrorie Family Stadium Grand Opening Tournament.
Grand Opening Weekend & Ribbon Cutting – The Bears will host Flagler and Davis & Elkins to open the brand-new McCrorie Family Stadium the weekend of February 8th. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. that Saturday morning. Following the ceremony will be a ceremonial first pitch before the LR vs. Flagler softball game. The first 100 fans at the game will receive a commemorative magnet to remember the special occasion.
Ticketing – Admission to LR softball games is $5. Cash and card are accepted. Children 12 and younger are admitted free with a paying adult. Lenoir-Rhyne faculty, staff and students receive free admission and a plus one with their LR ID card. Select members of the Bears club and the Bullpen Club, LR softball's official fundraising club, will receive complimentary season ticket passes for their continued monetary support of the Bears.

Parking – Parking is free and first come first served in the McCrorie Family Stadium parking lot. By parking in this or any parking lot on LR, the driver assumes all risk from foul balls or other potential hazards.
Concessions/outside food – New at McCorrie Family Stadium, concessions will be available at all games! The concession stand will offer Pepsi products, chips, candy, popcorn and hotdogs throughout the season. Cash and card are accepted. No outside food will be permitted inside McCrorie Family Stadium. Fans may bring a single water bottle inside the stadium to refill.
Bags – All bags are subject to search upon entry.
Dogs and pets – Pets are not permitted inside McCrorie Family Stadium with the exception of Bark in the Park or other special promotions.
