Brenda Campbell, a 1965 graduate of L-R, was a standout athlete for several club teams during college, which at the time did not field an official women's team. Campbell, who received her master's degree from Temple in 1966, is known for her coaching accomplishments at The College of New Jersey.  At TCNJ, Campbell coached the women's tennis team for 27 years (1969-1995) and the women's swimming team for 32 seasons from 1970 to 2001.  As tennis mentor, Campbell compiled a 325-79 mark and won the 1986 NCAA Division III National Tennis Championship, the first northeast team in any division to do so.  Campbell, the 1990 Wilson National Coach of the Year, also put together a 68-match conference win streak and coached 19 NCAA (USTA) All-Americans and three Academic All-Americans. As women's swimming coach, Campbell led TCNJ to 13 conference championships and coached 52 NCAA All-Americans, 18 NCAA Medal Winners and one NCAA National Championship to go along with a 226-105-4 career record.  Campbell also graduated 99 percent of her student-athletes during her tenure as coach of both teams.  Campbell retired in 2001 and moved to Kure Beach, N.C.
