Hall of Fame
Benny Moose was a dual-sport athlete and played under Hanley Painter from 1966-69 and helped the Bears to a 26-11 record in that span. Moose was a three-time Carolina Conference All-Conference performer and an NAIA All-District Defensive Back in 1967. Moose was a part of three Carolina Conference title teams and was a two-time Lutheran Al-American.
Moose was a Track and Field participant in 1968 and a Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame member in football, basketball, baseball and track and field.
He married LR graduate Bonnie Wensil Moose and the couple has two children (Bonita and Benjie). Moose has spent 45 years as an educator, coach and administrator.
