Michelle (Baity) Bryant (Lenoir-Rhyne, 2002) played four seasons of volleyball (1998-01) and is considered one of the greatest players in school history.  Bryant is the school’s only four-time First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference honoree and continues to hold numerous school records including career marks in kills (2,238), kills per set (4.89), attempts (4,602) and hitting percentage (.366).  Bryant was also the 1998 SAC Freshman of the Year and led the league in kills for three seasons and hitting percentage for two years.  In addition, Bryant was an Assistant Coach for the Bears for four years (2002-05) and helped lead the squad to its first-ever league championship and NCAA Division II playoff berth in 2004.  In the classroom, Bryant was an Academic All-District honoree and received her MBA from Lenoir-Rhyne in 2005.  For her efforts, Bryant was inducted into the SAC Hall of Fame in 2009.  Bryant is currently a Regional Medicare & Therapy Consultant for Principle LTC, Inc.  Bryant is the only player in program history to have her jersey retired.  Bryant and her husband, Adam, have two children:  Tyler & Karleigh.
