Ed Miastkowski was a two-time all-conference basketball player who played on Lenoir-Rhyne's all-time winningest team. He, along with four other members off that 1962-63 team that finished with a 26-5 record, tallied over 1,000 career points. Â His has a lifetime of 1,531 points and a career field goal percentage of .553, two of the school's best marks. Â Miastkowski led LR in scoring during his junior and senior years, averaging close to 21 points an outing both years. Â He was named by the NAIA as an honorable mention All-American in 1965. Â With Miastkowski in a Bear uniform, Lenoir-Rhyne posted a four-year record of 77-34 (.694). Â Miastkowski had a long teaching career in Wilmington, N.C., with the New Hanover County School System. Â He has also hosted international exchange students from Japan and Germany and has served on the Wrightsville Beach Town Planning Board.
