Broadwell (Lenoir-Rhyne, 1984) played four years on the Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Basketball Team from the 1980-81 season through the 1983-84 season. Broadwell totaled 1,023 career points – 17th-best all-time – and led Lenoir-Rhyne to the 1980-81 and 1981-82 NCAIAW State Championships and a berth in the 1981 AIAW National Final Four in Dayton, Ohio. The 1980-81 squad, Region II Champions with a record of 27-8, is considered one of the best in school history.

Broadwell is also ranked fifth in rebounds (713), seventh in field goal percentage (51.0), and third in blocks (129) on the school’s all-time lists as well. As a senior and co-captain in 1983-84, Broadwell led the team in scoring (17.1 ppg) and rebounding (9.7 rpg) and was named the Team Most Valuable Player. Broadwell was also a member of the Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Tennis Team for two years and graduated Cum Laude.

Broadwell received her MBA from Wake Forest University in 1986 and has lived in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area ever since. Broadwell, a current resident of Alexandria, Va., has enjoyed a distinguished career in NASA since 1990 and has served in various capacities at its headquarters in the District of Columbia.
