Sally Reid Bradshaw, one of the finest female athletes ever to attend Lenoir-Rhyne College, was an outstanding basketball and volleyball player for the Bears. Â She was chosen as a second team All-American in basketball by the American Women's Sports Federation in 1979-80. Â She was also a three-time All-State performer during her four-year basketball career. Â She holds school records in career scoring per game average (22.8) and in single season per game scoring average (28.7). Â Recognition also came Bradshaw's way in 1979 when she was named the Outstanding Lutheran College Athlete. Â Bradshaw was also a four-year starter on the Bears' Volleyball Team and gained All-State accolades in that sport. Â Bradshaw, who was drafted professionally by the St. Louis Streaks, served as Assistant Principal at Bunker Hill High School in Claremont, N.C.
