Harold C. Bullard starred in Lenoir-Rhyne football during some of the college's finest years on the gridiron. Bullard entered Lenoir-Rhyne in 1954 after an outstanding career at Rockham High School.  He played on three-straight Carolinas Conference championships teams, which lost only one conference game and compiled a 27-2-2 overall record.  The Rockingham, N.C., fullback played an important role in those glittering records and was named all-conference his last three years, as well as All-American his final two.  Bullard was drafted by the Baltimore Colts upon graduation from Lenoir-Rhyne, but he went into teaching and coaching instead - first at Camden Military Academy in Camden, S.C., and later at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C.  In 1970, the Lenoir-Rhyne standout joined the New York Life Insurance Company, and he may soon qualify for their hall of fame also.  He had rapdily rose from agent to general manager of the company's Piedmont general office in Charlotte, N.C., receiving numerous honors along the way.
