Dean Cline, a 1958 graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne, was a four-year letterwinner (1954-57) and two-time All-North State Conference honoree (1956-57) for the Bears. An extremely versatile player, Cline led the team in receiving in 1955 and 1957 and in passing in 1956 as he played blocking back and linebacker.  In his last three years, Cline helped lead Lenoir-Rhyne to a 27-2-2 mark to go along with three straight North State Titles, a 21-game non-losing streak and a perfect 10-0 mark in 1956.  Cline, who is currently the owner of D.C. Sales in Ridgeway, Va., also won the 1957 North State Conference Kirkland Blocking Trophy.
