Donna Elrod Lewis was a three-sport standout during her stay at Lenoir-Rhyne College.  She played on the women's basketball and volleyball teams for four seasons and on the softball team for two.  An all-around player for the Bears, Elrod, who was named to the all-region team as a junior, is listed in all nine career categories that stats are kept. At the time of graduation, she ranked second in assists (362), third in steals (281), seventh in field goal percentage (.506) and points (1,227), eighth in rebounds (587) and scoring average (13.9), ninth in rebounding average (6.7) and blocked shots (51) and 10th in free throw percentage (.700).  In volleyball, Elrod was named to the NCAIAW Division II All-State Tournament team three times, as well as the NCAIAW Division II All-State Team twice.  In 1978, she helped the Bears to a second-place finish in the state tournament and a fourth-place finish in the AIAW Region II Tournament when Lenoir-Rhyne finished with a 33-16 record.  Elrod has been a physical education teacher including many years at Mount Holly (N.C.) Middle School.  She was named the "Teacher of the Year" in 1985-86 at Fairview Elementary School in Monroe, N.C.
