Myers was one of the best multi-sport athletes in Bears' history. Myers, a four-year letterwinner for the football team (1991-94), finished with 121 receptions and 2,384 yards as a wideout and set the school record for single-season receiving yards (1,136) in 1994. Myers was also a two-time All-SAC selection (1992 and 1994) and earned honorable mention NCAA Division II All-American honors in 1994, the last year Lenoir-Rhyne won the South Atlantic Conference title. Â For his efforts, Myers was selected in the seventh round by the Miami Dolphins in 1995 and played several years in the NFL, CFL and European League. Â An outstanding baseball player as well, Myers was named the SAC Player of the Year in 1994 after finishing with a .446 batting average and 34 stolen bases. Â Myers, a three-year all-league pick (1994, 1995 and 1997) and 1994 all-region honoree, is the school's all-time leader in batting average (.390) and stolen bases (82). Myers is a 2004 SAC Hall of Fame Inductee and worked for NASCAR as a tire changer and has been part of the pit crew that helped Dale Earnhardt, Jr., win the 2004 Daytona 500 and Martin Truex, Jr., win the Busch Series Championship in 2004 and 2005.
