Tommy Sellari graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne in 1959 after a stellar basketball career with the Bears. Â While at L-R, Sellari garnered honorable mention All-American honors from 1957 to 1959 as well as All-State, All-District and All-Conference accolades while also serving as team captain for two seasons. Â Sellari scored 1,015 points at Lenoir-Rhyne and his teams compiled an impressive 92-17 mark, including a 24-2 mark in 1956-57. Â Sellari's older brother, Tony, is a 1957 graduate of LR and a 1981 inductee in the Sports Hall of Fame. Â Upon graduation, Sellari was a ninth round pick of the Philadelphia Warriors in 1959. Â While in camp, Sellari was competing with five other rookies for one remaining spot on the team. Â The spot was won by NBA Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain.
