Tommy Sellari graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne in 1959 after a stellar basketball career with the Bears.  While at L-R, Sellari garnered honorable mention All-American honors from 1957 to 1959 as well as All-State, All-District and All-Conference accolades while also serving as team captain for two seasons.  Sellari scored 1,015 points at Lenoir-Rhyne and his teams compiled an impressive 92-17 mark, including a 24-2 mark in 1956-57.  Sellari's older brother, Tony, is a 1957 graduate of LR and a 1981 inductee in the Sports Hall of Fame.  Upon graduation, Sellari was a ninth round pick of the Philadelphia Warriors in 1959.  While in camp, Sellari was competing with five other rookies for one remaining spot on the team.  The spot was won by NBA Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain.
