Jack Sink lettered four years in both football and baseball and was manager of the Bears' football squad. Sink, who served in the United States Army and earned his master's degree from UNC Greensboro in 1957, went on to coach 32 years of high school baseball including 30 at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, N.C.  At Myers Park, Sink recorded over 300 wins to go along with seven conference titles, one state title (1970) and one state runner-up finish (1958).  For his effort, Myers Park named its baseball field after him.  Sink also coached 10 years of American Legion Baseball and won two Senior Babe Ruth State championships.   Extremely active in the community, Sink was the first President of the North Carolina Baseball Coaches Association and won the Distinguished Service Award from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System in 1988.  Sink's grandson, Brian Neill, was a recent graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne in 2004 and was a member of the Bears' baseball squad.
