Tyrone McDaniel (Lenoir-Rhyne, 1993) was one of the greatest guards to ever play for the Bears. A four-year letterwinner (1989-93), McDaniel established South Atlantic Conference records for all-time steals (293) and steals in a season (116).  McDaniel, who guided the Bears to a 88-30 mark over those four seasons, was named to the All-South Atlantic Conference second team in 1992-93 and is one of 54 members of Lenoir-Rhyne's 1,000 point club (1,034).  With McDaniel at the point, the Bears won a pair of SAC Regular Season and Tournament Titles and the 1992-93 squad, considered by many as one of L-R's best ever, advanced all the way to the NAIA National Quarterfinals.  McDaniel has played in various professional leagues since his collegiate days including the American Basketball Association, Global Basketball Alliance, Chavis and a Venezuelan League.
