Kaylyn Bayly (Lenoir-Rhyne, 1991) was one of the best all-around female athletes in school history, excelling in both volleyball and softball. Bayly played four years on the Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team, leading the squad to a combined record of 78-46 including 23-12 marks in both 1988 and 1989. Bayly was a two-time All-NAIA District 26 honoree (1987-88) and a two-time all league performer (1988-89). In addition, Bayly led the Bears to the 1987 Carolinas Conference Championship and a berth in the All-District 26 playoffs. On the softball field, Bayly was a First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference selection (1990-91) and was the Team's Most Valuable Player in 1991 after leading the squad in batting average (a school-record .500), runs (45) and hits (54). Bayly finished second in the nation in hitting in 1991 as well and was invited to the Pan American Games tryouts. Bayly is currently a teacher and coach at Countryside High School in Clearwater, Fla.
