Thomas Brown was a standout performer on some of the college's greatest football teams. Â He debuted as a Bear during Clarence Stasavich's final year at the school (1961) and was a vital member of Lenoir-Rhyne teams that finished 8-1-1 in 1961 and 11-1 in 1962. Â Brown led the Bears in passing as a freshman and in total offense as a senior. Â Upon his 1965 graduation, Brown began what would become a legendary prep coaching career. Â Brown's career high school record is 365-140-7 and includes stints at Maiden, Bunker Hill and East Burke High Schools. Â Brown is also in four hall of hames total including the Catawba County and North Carolina High School Athletic Association. Â Maiden's high school stadium was named in his honor in 1992.
