L. Klynt Ripple came to Lenoir-Rhyne as a basketball prospect, but he also excelled on the football field, and following his graduation the Lexington business executive continued to succeed in a wide variety of activities. Â Ripple played football and basketball all four years at Lenoir-Rhyne and baseball his freshman and sophomore years. Â He was the Most Valuable Player on the football team during his senior season. Â The Lexington, N.C., native earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and commercial majors, was a member of the Lettermen's Club and was voted Most Athletic Senior while at Lenoir-Rhyne. Â Ripple graduated in 1940 and launched a career as a business, civic and church leader in his home community of Lexington. Â He was president and treasurer of Welcoming Milling Company near Lexington, an active member of that city's First Methodist Church and a leader in the Kiwanis Club, the YMCA and other civic organizations. Â Nor has Ripple forgotten his alma mater. Â He was twice chaired Lenoir-Rhyne's Loyalty Fund and served as President of the Alumni Association for another two years. Â He was a trustee of the Piedmont Educational Foundation for some 28 years and a member of the Lenoir-Rhyne Development Board.
