Padget ('76) played on the football team for four seasons from 1972-75. Considered one of the best placekickers in Lenoir-Rhyne history, Padget holds the record for the longest field goal in school history (56 yards vs. Mars Hill in 1975) and scored the most points in single-season history by a kicker with 67 in 1975 as well.  Padget was a first team all-South Atlantic Conference honoree in 1975, they year in which the Bears won the first-ever SAC Championship.  Padget also holds the Carolinas Conference record for the longest field goal (52 yards vs. Carson-Newman in 1973).  Padget graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in 1976 and worked for the South Carolina Highway Patrol for 25 years from 1976-2001.  During his tenure as patrolman, Padget has been named South Carolina Trooper of the Year and was President of the Lexington County Law Enforcement Association.  Pidget currently works as a volunteer kicking coach for Gilbert (S.C.) High School.  Padget and his wife, Barbara, have three children: Williams, Benjamin and Susan.
