Frank Little is the only four-time all-conference football player in the history of Lenoir-Rhyne College. Â Little played four years of football for the Bears - 1947, 1948, '49 and '50 - and earned All-North State Conference honors each season. Â An outstanding end, he grabbed 26 passes for 294 yards during his senior year. Â A native of Albemarle, Little was also a fine baseball player at L-R and played first base for three springs, including one during which he served as captain of the Bear baseballers. Â After graduation in 1951, Little played professional baseball with the old Newton-Conover Twins before entering the business world. Â A long-time Catawba County citizen, Little was active in civic affairs. Â He served for 12 years on the Maiden Town Board as an alderman, is a past director of the Greater Catawba Chamber of Commerce and is a former board member of the YMCA of Catawba County and Catawba Valley Technical College. Â Little was also employed as a sales representative for Dixie Foam Rubber of Hickory.
