Frank Little is the only four-time all-conference football player in the history of Lenoir-Rhyne College.  Little played four years of football for the Bears - 1947, 1948, '49 and '50 - and earned All-North State Conference honors each season.  An outstanding end, he grabbed 26 passes for 294 yards during his senior year.  A native of Albemarle, Little was also a fine baseball player at L-R and played first base for three springs, including one during which he served as captain of the Bear baseballers.  After graduation in 1951, Little played professional baseball with the old Newton-Conover Twins before entering the business world.  A long-time Catawba County citizen, Little was active in civic affairs.  He served for 12 years on the Maiden Town Board as an alderman, is a past director of the Greater Catawba Chamber of Commerce and is a former board member of the YMCA of Catawba County and Catawba Valley Technical College.  Little was also employed as a sales representative for Dixie Foam Rubber of Hickory.
