John David Moose was a four-year letterman in football from 1955-58 and in track and field from 1956-57. Â While a member of the football team, Lenoir-Rhyne won four North State Conference Championships. Â Moose, who graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne in 1959, was the captain of the 1958 team (9-1) which was voted the best team in the state that season. Â After Lenoir-Rhyne, the Albemarle, N.C., native joined Collins & Aiken Corporation in June 1960 in the executive training program. Â Beginning in 1962 he held sales jobs in New York City, North Carolina and then for eight years in Detroit, Michigan, before becoming Vice President of Marketing for Automotive Products in 1981. Â Moose was promoted to President of the North American Automotive Group in June 1989. Â From 1994 to 1998, Moose was President of the Automotive Fabrics International Group. Â Moose was a member of the Lenoir-Rhyne Board of Trustees and was elected its chairman this year. Â In 1984, Moose established an annual football scholarship in memory of his son, David A. Moose, who was captain-elect of the 1984 football team.
