Leonard Davis, a four-year letterwinner on the football squad from 1991 to 1994, is the school's all-time leader in rushing (4,853 yards), touchdowns (59) and points (354). Davis also ranked first in Division II in rushing in 1994 at 173.2 yards per game. Â Davis led Lenoir-Rhyne to an 8-2 record and the team's last South Atlantic Conference Championship in 1994 en route to earning NCAA Division II Second Team All-American honors. Â Davis, a three-time first-team All-SAC pick (1992-94) and 1994 league offensive player of the year, also garnered 1992 Second-Team NAIA All-American accolades. On October 9, 1993, Davis set what is still the South Atlantic Conference single-game rushing record with 344 yards versus Gardner-Webb. Â He was also inducted into the South Atlantic Conference Hall of Fame this past summer. Â Davis now works for Community Education Partners in Orlando, Fla., and has served as a teacher, coach and administrator since leaving L-R.
