Lenoir-Rhyne University Athletics

Terence Steward was a four-year standout as a wide receiver for the Lenoir-Rhyne College football team.  He is the only person in school history to be named to an all-american team three times when he was named to the NAIA All-America first team in 1984, 1985 and 1986.  He was also a three-time South Atlantic Conference performer.  In his career, Stewart caught a school-record 247 passes for a school-record 3,631 yards and is third all-time with 18 touchdown catches.  As a senior, Steward amassed 1,105 yards receiving, including 266 yards on 18 catches against Mars Hill in 1986 (both school and stadium records).  After graduating in 1987 with a degree in sports management from Lenoir-Rhyne, Steward signed a free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys.  However, Steward played just one season with the Cowboys until a knee injury ended his career. Stewart has managed K-Mart stores in Whiteville, N.C., Tampa, Fla., and St. Petersburg, Fla.
